The Green Branch is a developer of large-scale reforestation projects in Brazil. We work alongside nature and those depending on it to transform degraded land into resilient forests. Together with our partners, we plant biodiverse forests with native species, striving to bring it back to its original ecosystem and empowering local communities to restore their degraded lands. Location: Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Description:

Your role will include:

  • Research for ARR (Afforestation, reforestation and revegetation) projects and REDD+ (Reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation) in Brazil;
  • Support the application of the VCS (Verified Carbon Standard) and CCB (Climate, Community & Biodiversity) certification on these projects;
  • Collection of data and findings relevant to project development;
  • Academic writing and assisting with Project Documentation;
  • Supporting our Forestry Carbon Specialist & Environmental Services Specialist;
  • Supporting reforestation projects in the broadest sense

Profile and skills:

  • Interest in forest and nature conservation and the voluntary carbon market;
  • Working on/Graduated from your masters in one of the following areas:
  • Environmental Sciences;
  • Nature Conservation and Restoration;
  • Forestry;
  • Other studies with adjacent focusses (e.g. Soil, Water, Atmosphere);
  • Academic writing, scientific underpinning and performing adequate research;
  • Ability to multitask and work well in an international team environment;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, Portuguese is a plus;
  • Experience in GIS is a plus;
  • Based in the Netherlands (working from home is possible for some days in the week).
