1. Fruitleather Rotterdam
Fruitleather Rotterdam was established by two young entrepreneurs Koen Meerkerk and Hugo de Boon. With a passion for creating value from things that have been labelled as useless, the designer duo introduced a completely new perspective to the sustainable fashion industry. By creating new materials from discarded fruit, the vision of Fruitleather is to spread awareness of the food waste issue as well as to show how waste in general can be used in a positive way.

WasteBoards wants to turn the tide by involving as many people as possible, creating value from plastic waste. While having fun doing it.
They say: “We are the first high-quality skateboard manufacturer that used plastic bottle caps. Curved fruits and vegetables? At some point, we all meet not-too-straight goodies like them. “Did you know that part of the fruit and vegetables is already lost in the first step of the chain? About 10% of fruit and vegetables do not end up on our plates because there is simply too much of them or because they do not meet certain aesthetic requirements” ????????????
